If you’ve been in pain management therapies for years, you’ve probably come to the conclusion that they don’t work. And you’re right. So what do you do when you live in chronic pain? Many sufferers make the mistake of taking pain killers to numb their physical pain and antidepressants to numb their emotional despair.
You already know that that chronic pain and depression go hand in hand. But what you may not know is that taking antidepressants can make you even more depressed, suicidal and even violent to yourself and others.
The Alliance For Natural Health news, reporting on an article taken from the British Medical Journal, states that there’s new evidence that antidepressants are causing an epidemic of violence. And that even those who have shown no propensity for violence or aggression can develop violent behavior soon after beginning antidepressants.
The article states that violence and suicide are just two side effects of antidepressants. There have been a total of 134 warnings from regulatory agencies in eleven countries, including:
- 30 warnings that antidepressants cause heart problems
- 21 warnings that they cause birth defects
- 6 warnings that they cause anxiety
- 5 warnings that they cause mania or psychosis
- 4 warnings that they cause death
- 4 warnings that they cause hallucinations or delusional thinking
- 4 warnings that they cause involuntary movements
- 2 warnings that they cause sexual dysfunction
With this ominous list of side effects, it seems to me that if you weren’t severely depressed before taking the antidepressant, you certainly would be after!
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recognizes that many perpetrators of violent crimes were also taking antidepressants. For this reason, and because antidepressants also cause suicidal thoughts, many antidepressants carry a “black box warning”, the most stringent precaution a drug label can carry before being removed from the market.
Two of the most common antidepressants – Prozac and Paxil – are among the worst offenders. According to recent statistics, users of Paxil are 10.3 times more likely to do violence to themselves or others, while users of Prozac are 10.9 times more likely to commit acts of violence.
Healthy and Permanent Alternatives To Antidepressants And Chronic Pain
Pain medication doesn’t permanently get rid of your chronic muscle and joint pain and antidepressants don’t get rid of your depression. What they do accomplish is to addict you to drugs. One has to wonder at the idiocy of these prescribed methods of treatment, endorsed by the American Medical Association and Big Pharm.
A much more effective – and certainly healthier and safer – approach is to identify the cause of your muscle and joint pain and treat that cause directly.
A common cause of chronic musculoskeletal pain is the two inherited, abnormal foot structures; Rothbarts Foot and PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity, and they are effectively treated using Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy.
When you no longer have chronic pain, most likely you will no longer feel the need for antidepressants. But don’t wait – start now – throw them out the window, read the information provided on this website and get started on a healthier and happier life.
Reading the Curing Chronic Pain website will give you more information about the abnormal foot structures Professor/Dr. Rothbart discovered that cause many forms of chronic muscle and joint pain and help you determine whether an Initial Phone Consultation with him might be helpful.
